The Loewe Stellar DR+ Smart TV was revealed last summer, and now the company is broadening its options by adding a lava variant. This TV differentiates itself from others with similar features due to its eye-catching design, blending a black brushed aluminum frame with a back made from concrete, which is topped with a 60-micrometer-thin layer of cooled lava.
Unique Material Benefits
Loewe claims that cooled lava is not just eco-friendly and abundant, but also resistant to corrosion and can effectively manage the heat produced by the OLED panel. It supposedly has a sound-dampening quality, though whether this is truly beneficial is up for debate. The hardware in the new lava variant remains the same as its predecessors: it continues to utilize an MLA OLED panel from LG Display, boasting full 4K resolution, a frame rate of 144 Hz, and an HDR peak brightness of 1,500 nits.
Gaming Features
Equipped with HDMI 2.1 and VRR, the smart TV is expected to cater well to gamers, especially when paired with an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5. The built-in soundbar delivers 80 watts of power and incorporates six drivers. Additionally, users can record TV shows thanks to the integrated 1 TB SSD. Loewe also offers an optional motorized stand, which allows users to adjust the TV’s height at the press of a button. An LED strip at the bottom enhances the room’s ambiance.
