KFC x Casio G-Shock GA-2100 Limited Edition Watch Release

KFC has joined forces with Casio to create a special edition G-Shock GA-2100 watch specifically for the UK market. The collaboration highlights Casio’s roots in Japan, along with the unique tradition of enjoying KFC during Christmas in Japan.

    Design Features

This exclusive G-Shock GA-2100 comes in a vibrant red color and proudly displays the KFC logo on its strap. Aside from that, it shares similarities with other watches in the series. It includes features like five daily alarms, a stopwatch that measures up to 1/100th of a second, and a countdown timer. With its shock-resistant design and advanced Carbon Core Guard technology, this watch is also water-resistant up to 200m and boasts a battery life of around three years. An LED backlight ensures that the display is easily readable, even in dim environments.

    Competition Details

The KFC x Casio G-Shock GA-2100 will be available through a competition running on the UK KFC Shop website. Eleven watches will be given away, with one being offered each day at 11:11 AM from December 14th to December 24th. Currently, it seems that there won’t be an option to purchase this watch later on. For those in the US, a red Casio G-Shock GA-2100-4A is available on Amazon, now priced at $69.28, down from its original price of $99.00.

  • Hatch Restore 2 Sleep Clock with Kentucky Fried Chicken ASMR

Hatch Restore 2 Sleep Clock with Kentucky Fried Chicken ASMR

Hatch has partnered with KFC to bring the calming sounds of fried chicken cooking to the Restore 2 smart sleep clock, which is accessible through a Hatch+ subscription. This unique ASMR audio is just one of many options offered to help users build a tranquil atmosphere for better sleep.

    Light’s Influence on Sleep

The human retina responds to light, which causes various reactions in the brain and body. Notably, specific light colors, particularly blue light that we see during bright days, promote wakefulness. The shift from light to darkness throughout the day also plays a pivotal role in our circadian rhythm. This rhythm governs essential functions in our brain, organs, and immune system, such as sleep and cell repair. However, the increased use of screens from computers, TVs, tablets, and smartphones raises exposure to blue light, making it difficult for some individuals to enjoy quality sleep.

    Features of the Restore 2

The Restore 2 smart clock merges the functions of a clock, alarm, and light, while also providing Wi-Fi downloadable audio content. This includes channels featuring dreamscapes, relaxation exercises, curated music, and sleep stories designed to enhance the sleep experience. The clock’s light gradually dims during the night, emitting a warm glow that doesn’t disrupt the circadian rhythm. Its alarm gently awakens users with soft sounds and a warm light that mimics a sunrise. Two large buttons on the top allow users to silence the alarm and start the night’s calming sounds.

The Hatch Restore 2 is priced at $169.99 and is currently available on Amazon. For $4.99 per month, the Hatch+ subscription gives users access to a variety of sounds, including the ‘Kentucky Fried Chicken Rain’ recording, across all Hatch sleep devices in their homes. The Restore 2 has dimensions of 7.24 x 2.43 x 5.31 inches (18.4 x 6.1 x 13.5 cm) and weighs 1.27 pounds (0.58 kg).

    Conclusion

With the collaboration between Hatch and KFC, users can now enjoy a unique auditory experience that aids in relaxation and sleep. This innovative approach to sleep enhancement is part of a broader trend in wellness technology, aiming to improve the quality of rest for many individuals.

  • KFC’s Colonel Sanders Joins Tekken: A Fried Dream Come True

KFC’s Colonel Sanders Joins Tekken: A Fried Dream Come True

Katsuhiro Harada, the director of the Tekken series, once seriously considered introducing Colonel Sanders into the famous fighting game. In an interview with TheGamer, Harada shared that he proposed this idea to KFC Japan, aiming to include the fast-food icon as a guest fighter. Sadly, the concept did not advance beyond initial discussions, as both KFC and even Harada’s superiors were not receptive to the proposal.

    KFC’s Stance on the Collaboration

Game designer Michael Murray elaborated that KFC was not interested in having Colonel Sanders trade his chicken bucket for a fighting move. He suggested that the primary concern was that Tekken is fundamentally a fighting game. While KFC has allowed Sanders to participate in other unconventional projects, such as the quirky dating simulator I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator, a brawler seemed to be too extreme for their brand.

    Impact on Future Collaborations

Harada mentioned that this rejection also dampens any hopes fans might have for other unusual requests, like the popular demand for a Waffle House stage. He explained that establishing these kinds of partnerships involves navigating complex corporate discussions. For the time being, fans will have to make do with the actual character lineup in Tekken 8, which includes the return of Heihachi Mishima.
