Honor has just added two new smartphones, the X5b and X5b Plus, to its X series lineup. These devices are now available for purchase across various markets in the Middle East. While both phones share many features, the X5b Plus stands out with some enhancements that make it a slightly better choice than the standard model.

    Display and Performance

Both the Honor X5b and X5b Plus come equipped with a 6.56-inch LCD screen that offers HD resolution and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. They are powered by the MediaTek Helio G36 chipset, which is an entry-level processor designed specifically for basic smartphones. Each model can be configured with up to 4GB of RAM and offers storage options of up to 128GB.

    Battery and Storage

In terms of battery life, both smartphones boast a robust 5,200mAh battery. When it comes to memory, the standard X5b variant provides a single configuration with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the X5b Plus offers a 4GB RAM and 128GB storage setup. Additionally, both models are equipped with micro-SD card slots that enable users to expand their storage by as much as 1TB.

    Camera and Pricing

Even though they are quite similar in design and specifications, there is a noticeable difference in pricing. The Honor X5b starts at $80 for the 4GB/64GB version, whereas the X5b Plus is priced at SAR 399 (approximately $106) for the 4GB/128GB option. Honor X5b Certified: Affordable Budget Phone on Google Play Console

Honor appears to be gearing up to launch a new budget-friendly smartphone in the near future. Honor X5b on Google Play Console

The upcoming device from the Chinese smartphone maker was detected on the Google Play Console with the model number GFY-LX2P. This certification gives us a sneak peek at the Honor X5b and some of its specifications. According to the online database, the Honor X5b features a waterdrop notch display framed by thick bezels. The single selfie camera is prominently located in the notch.

This smartphone could either be the next version of the Honor X5 or a new model positioned just below the Honor X9b and X8b, which were launched last year. Internally, the Honor X5b is powered by the MediaTek Helio G36 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM. The device was observed on the Google Play Console running Android 14 straight out of the box. In terms of its display, it promises a resolution of 1620 x 720 (HD+) and a pixel density of 320 DPI. This certification further indicates that its global launch is imminent.

    Previous Releases and Expectations

Earlier this year, the brand discreetly introduced the Honor X6b, another budget-friendly smartphone in its lineup. This model came with a 6.56-inch TFT LCD screen boasting an HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. It was powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, offering up to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. For photography, it featured a dual camera setup on the back with a 50MP main sensor. Additionally, it packed a robust 5,200mAh battery that supports 35W fast charging. Therefore, it’s reasonable to expect that the Honor X5b will have similar specifications and features as well.
