Casio has announced the arrival of the new G-Shock GW-5000HS watches, which will be available worldwide, beginning in Japan and select markets in Europe. The GW-5000HS-1ER and GW-5000HS-7ER models were first discovered on a third-party retailer’s site in Europe (David et Philly), but they are now featured on Casio’s official UK web page, with a launch anticipated in February.
Design and Features
These two models belong to the Heritage Series. The GW-5000HS-1ER sports a black resin case and strap, while the GW-5000HS-7ER showcases a sleek white design. Both watches are infused with Casio’s renowned Tough Solar technology, enabling them to charge from natural light sources. Additionally, they come with Multiband 6 radio-controlled timekeeping, ensuring they stay in sync with atomic clocks around the globe.

Among other impressive features are 200-meter water resistance, a dual illuminator for improved visibility in dim light, five daily alarms, world time capabilities, and a bio-based resin strap that enhances their eco-friendliness. The shock-resistant build makes them ideal for daily use and tougher situations, while the simple, monochrome aesthetics pay homage to the classic GW-5000 series from the 1980s.
In the UK, these models are priced at £279 (around $340) each. In Japan, they are listed at ¥50,000, which translates to about $318. Pre-orders will be available in Europe, with some retailers mentioning a release date of February 20. Details about the launch in other regions, including the US, are still forthcoming, but the presence on the UK site indicates that the release will likely extend to additional global markets soon.
