Galaxy Z Flip6 Europe Price Leak: 140 Euros More Than Expected

Dutch e-commerce platform mobile.nl has confirmed that the Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for July 10, where Samsung will unveil its 6th generation foldable devices. Ahead of the launch, the European prices for the Galaxy Z Flip6 have already been disclosed. The 256GB model is expected to cost 1,340 euros (around 10,436 yuan), while the 512GB version will be priced at 1,467 euros (approximately 11,425 yuan). Additionally, earlier rumors suggest that the phone will also see a $100 price increase in the United States.

For comparison, the same storage options of the Galaxy Z Flip5 were sold for 1200 euros and 1320 euros respectively, highlighting a notable jump in pricing.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 Could Feature Enhanced Specifications with Familiar Design

Regarding the hardware, the Galaxy Z Flip6 is set to introduce some significant improvements. It will feature the more robust Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Additionally, the RAM has been upgraded from 8GB to 12GB, which could enhance the device's ability to run on-device large language models (LLMs) for improved AI functionalities and provide more room for apps.

Furthermore, the device is rumored to include a 50MP main sensor, the same one used in the Galaxy S24 series, which should result in better picture quality compared to its predecessor.

The Z Flip6 is also speculated to come with a 4000 mAh battery, offering a substantial increase from the 3700 mAh capacity of the previous model.

However, the design appears to remain largely unchanged, featuring the same 3.4″ external screen and camera layout. The inner foldable display also seems to be the same size as the previous model. With the significant price increase, Samsung might face greater market challenges in certain regions.

Tipster Suggests Galaxy Z Flip6 Launch in Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Model

Samsung’s highly anticipated flagship foldable flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip6, is rumored to exclusively feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, as per a recent tip from kro_roe on X (formerly Twitter). This marks a departure from previous Galaxy Z Flip models that offered both Snapdragon and Exynos 2400 chipset options.

    Galaxy Z Flip6 Chipset Update

The upcoming Samsung Unpacked event set for July 10 is expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Flip6 and the Galaxy Z Fold6. These flagship models are anticipated to have widespread appeal in various global markets. The latest insights suggest that Samsung might opt for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset across all regions for the Galaxy Z Flip6, abandoning the Exynos 2400 chips previously speculated to be region-specific.

There’s a sense of relief among enthusiasts as the decision to go all-in with Snapdragon for the Flip 6 avoids potential performance disparities associated with the Exynos 2400, as expressed by kro_roe’s tweet on May 12, 2024.

Samsung typically outfits its premium foldable devices, like the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip, with cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. In contrast, the Galaxy S series traditionally sees a dual chipset strategy, with models powered by either Qualcomm or Exynos SoCs. Switching to a single chipset for the Z Flip6 would signify a significant departure from Samsung’s established approach. Nonetheless, reports indicate that the Exynos 2400 chipset, found in the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup, offers comparable performance and efficiency metrics to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

    Awaited Confirmation and Event Details

At present, there’s no official validation regarding the exclusive use of Snapdragon in the Galaxy Z Flip6. Clarity on this and other particulars is expected to emerge as the Samsung Unpacked Event draws nearer on July 10. Stay tuned for more updates on Samsung’s latest flagship foldable devices.
