Solitaire and Candy Crush Saga are uniting to create Candy Crush Solitaire, a mobile game set to be released on February 6th. This launch will mark an industry-first milestone, as it will be the first game to launch on seven app stores at the same time. Besides the Apple Store and Google Play, Candy Crush Solitaire will also be available on platforms such as Amazon Appstore, Samsung Galaxy Store, Huawei App Gallery, Xiaomi GetApps, and One store.
Collaboration for Success
The developer, King, is collaborating with the marketing company Flexion to achieve this milestone. They previously partnered in June 2024, when Candy Crush Saga made its way to various alternative stores. Jens Lauritzson, CEO of Flexion, stated, “King has recognized that mobile audiences come from a more diverse range of markets these days, and we are thrilled to be able to help them reach those markets. Flexion has brought to the partnership the tech, experience, and expertise to ensure the ultimate in user choice.”
A New Genre Adventure
Candy Crush Solitaire is viewed as King’s “first expansion of the Candy universe into a new genre,” according to Benjamin Pommeraud, the company’s General Manager of Strategic Initiatives. Solitaire has roots that go back to the 18th century and became popular as a computer game due to Microsoft, which included it in Windows since 1990. Released in 2012, Candy Crush Saga is recognized as one of the most successful freemium games in terms of revenue. Those eager to try out Candy Crush Solitaire can already register through any of the seven platforms that will support the launch next month, but they will need to wait until then to actually play the game.
