Casio has teamed up with the world-renowned music star J Balvin to unveil the DWE-5600JB-1A9, an exciting new watch in the G-Shock family. This partnership has produced a timepiece that surely draws attention, as it shines brightly without being overly flashy.
Design Features
The watch features a see-through yellow bezel and band, along with an extra black bezel and bands for customization. This lets users change the look of their watch to fit various styles and occasions. Made from a carbon fiber-reinforced resin case, the DWE-5600 series is both durable and lightweight. It comes with classic G-Shock features like shock resistance, water resistance up to 200 meters, a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, multi-function alarm, and an EL backlight for easy reading in dark environments.
Color and Versatility
The vibrant color choices and interchangeable components may reflect J Balvin’s unique musical flair. Additionally, the black bezel and band set that can be swapped out provide great versatility, allowing wearers to adjust the watch’s look for everything from casual hangouts to more formal gatherings. On the watch face, you can spot the title of one of J Balvin’s tracks—”Ma’ G”—displayed in a funky font, from his album JOSE, which came out in 2021.
Release and Pricing
Though it was first announced for Indonesia, the DWE-5600JB-1A9 is likely to be available in other locations, including the United States, though there hasn’t been any confirmation for a launch in Japan yet. This release approach is quite different from the recently launched Casio Fine Metallic Series, which appears to be exclusive to Japan. The anticipated cost for the Casio x J Balvin collaboration watch is about $230, but the final price may vary.
