Anbernic RG406H Launch Date and Pricing for New Handheld Gaming

The new addition to the RG406 series is nearly here. So far, Anbernic has only launched the RG406V, which is currently priced at $229.99 on Amazon. Recently, the company has announced not just the release date for the RG406H, but also its starting price.

    Launch Date and Promotion

The RG406H will go on sale at 10:00 UTC on November 19. Like usual, Anbernic will have a launch promotion that runs until November 22 at 10:00 UTC. This promotion offers a $10 discount, which is just a 6% decrease on the most affordable models of the RG406H.

    Pricing Details

To break it down, the RG406H will be available starting at $157.99 in colors like black, white, and a see-through purple. There will also be options with 128 GB and 256 GB MicroSD cards, priced at $172.99 and $187.99, respectively. In the end, the RG406H is expected to deliver a gaming experience quite similar to the RG406V and other handhelds by Anbernic that use the Unisoc T820 chip.

    Hardware Specifications

Furthermore, the RG406H operates on Android 13 and comes with 128 GB of UFS 2.2 built-in storage. Anbernic has included 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, a battery with 5,000 mAh capacity, and Hall effect joysticks. Check out the image below for more details on the hardware.

  • Anbernic Reveals New Details on RG406H Retro Gaming Handheld

Anbernic Reveals New Details on RG406H Retro Gaming Handheld

Barely any time has gone by since Anbernic launched the RG406H. Still, the company has quickly moved on by sharing more details about its upcoming gaming handheld.

    Similarities with RG406V

The RG406H is yet another version of the hardware seen in the recent RG406V (currently $229.99 on Amazon). Although Anbernic didn’t share much info at first, their new teaser highlights that the RG406H shares many features with the RG406V.

    Key Specifications

Anbernic has now confirmed that the RG406H is powered by the Unisoc T820, which is also found in the RG Cube and RG556. Additionally, the Unisoc T820 is paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 128 GB of UFS flash storage, and a robust 5,500 mAh battery.

    Enhanced Gaming Experience

The RG406H comes with Hall effect joysticks, which are surrounded by RGB lighting rings. Notably, Anbernic emphasized that the RG406H ‘provides 360° precise movement’ and ‘rapid input response.’ This seems to address earlier complaints regarding certain recent handhelds that experienced issues with snapping. While a specific release date is still not known, we believe the RG406H will launch before December begins.

  • Anbernic RG406H: New Pocket Gaming Handheld Leaks Before Release

Anbernic RG406H: New Pocket Gaming Handheld Leaks Before Release

One of Anbernic’s new gaming handhelds has made another appearance online as it heads towards a likely worldwide launch. In particular, NITTRX has discovered fresh images of the RG406H, which was first seen online in late October.

    New Images Emerge

This time around, someone has posted pictures of the unreleased device showing its front, back, and the display powered on. In brief, the RG406H looks similar to the RG CubeXX that was released nearly a month ago. Nevertheless, it is expected to perform similarly to the RG Cube and the RG406V (currently priced at $229.99 on Amazon), which is the foundation for the RG406H’s design.

    Specifications and Features

As indicated by one of the images below, Anbernic has fitted the RG406H with a 5,000 mAh Li-Po battery (3.8 V) that allows for 10 W charging. Therefore, this device will be on par with the RG406V in this aspect. Moreover, the same image shows that Anbernic has added ergonomic grips on the back, deep triggers, and two vents designed for the RG406H’s compact cooling system.

    Expected Launch and Display

Additionally, RGB lighting will be featured again, along with the large d-pad from the RG Cube. It’s important to mention that while Anbernic installs a 1:1 display in the RG Cube, the RG406H is set to come with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 4-inch display similar to the one in the RG406V released in September. It’s likely that Anbernic will officially unveil the RG406H later this month, using the same Unisoc T820 chipset as before.

  • Anbernic RG P01: Affordable Wireless Controller with Hall Effect Joysticks

Anbernic RG P01: Affordable Wireless Controller with Hall Effect Joysticks

Typically, Anbernic puts out a new gadget each month. But this October, they’re doing things a bit differently. Just a week ago, they launched the RG CubeXX (currently priced at $119.99 on Amazon) worldwide.

    New Arrival: RG P01

Now, it’s time for the RG P01, which will have a special starting price until November 12. This date also marks the start of shipping for pre-sale orders. The controller will be priced at no more than $17.99, yet it has a lot of features that many similar devices don’t offer.

    Connectivity and Features

The RG P01 supports various connectivity options, including 2.4 GHz wireless, wired, and Bluetooth through the Bluetooth 5.3 standard. For clarity, these options provide polling rates of 200 Hz, 400 Hz, and 150 Hz, respectively. Moreover, Anbernic has incorporated Hall effect joysticks and triggers, RGB lighting, plus two macro buttons located at the back.

    Battery Life and Design

Additionally, the RG P01 comes with a 600 mAh battery that can last for 8 hours during gameplay, whether on X-input, Android, or Switch modes. Anbernic has chosen conductive rubber for the controller’s d-pad, ABXY buttons, and shoulder buttons. Right now, the RG P01 is offered in three colors: Black, Beige White, and Radiant Purple. Anbernic RG406H Leaked: 720p Display and PS2 Emulation Expected

Anbernic is getting ready to launch yet another handheld for retro gaming, probably before the year wraps up. To give you some background, not much time has passed since their last release, the RG406V (currently priced at $226.99 on Amazon). In the meantime, they’ve introduced the RG CubeXX as a less expensive option compared to the RG Cube. Additionally, they are set to launch their first wireless controller tomorrow.

    New Model in the Works

Recently, a leak has hinted at a horizontal version of the RG406V being developed. This new model, referred to as the RG406H, is believed to be the same gadget that was earlier called the RG406P. The RG406H features a horizontal design that initially looks a lot like the RG Cube, given its d-pad, joystick, and ABXY button setup.

    Specs and Features

Expectations are that the RG406H will come with a 4-inch IPS display in a 4:3 aspect ratio, delivering a 720p resolution. If the RG406H maintains the same specifications as the RG406V, it will operate on Android 13, powered by a 5,500 mAh battery, along with 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 flash storage.

Furthermore, it appears that Anbernic is returning to the Unisoc T820 chipset for this model, which will be managed with a small active cooling system. While the exact release date remains uncertain, we believe the RG406H might hit the market in November.

  • Anbernic RG P01 Launches with Hall Effect Joysticks Under $15

Anbernic RG P01 Launches with Hall Effect Joysticks Under $15

Anbernic has officially announced the release date for its very first controller, marking it as its second product launch this month following the RG CubeXX. This news comes less than two weeks after the core specifications of the RG P01 were shared by Anbernic. Alongside this, the pricing for the RG P01 has also been revealed.

    Pricing Details

As per RetroHandhelds, the introductory price for Anbernic’s controller will be set at $14.99, which will increase to $17.99 once pre-orders start shipping on November 12. This means that the RG P01 will significantly undercut the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C, which is currently priced at $29.99 on Amazon and offers Bluetooth and wireless capabilities. It’s worth mentioning that the wired version of the Ultimate 2C is available for $19.99, making it $10 cheaper than the wireless model.

    Features of the RG P01

Similar to the Ultimate 2C, the RG P01 is equipped with Hall effect joysticks and triggers. RetroHandhelds’ review indicates that the RG P01 does not experience the cardinal snapping issue found in some recent Anbernic handhelds. Additionally, unlike the Ultimate 2C, the RG P01 features two rear-mounted buttons labeled M1 and M2. Anbernic plans to launch the RG P01 at 10:00 UTC on October 29. The new controller will be available on both AliExpress and Anbernic’s official website, though the links for these platforms are not yet active.

    Availability

Anbernic will be selling the RG P01 through its website and AliExpress, as confirmed by RetroHandhelds. Stay tuned for updates as the launch date approaches!

  • Anbernic RG ArcXX Leaks Reveal Potential Specs and Features

Anbernic RG ArcXX Leaks Reveal Potential Specs and Features

Almost a year has gone since Anbernic launched the RG Arc in both D and S versions (curr. $68.99 on Amazon). But the company hasn’t just sat back and done nothing regarding new hardware.

Instead, Anbernic has been rolling out new devices every month since January, with the latest being the RG CubeXX released earlier this week. Recently, there have been whispers on Bilibili suggesting that Anbernic might be gearing up to replace the RG Arc with a new model called the RG ArcXX.

    Expectations for the RG ArcXX

Right now, the buzz around Anbernic’s upcoming gaming handheld seems to be pretty low. It appears that the main change would be swapping the Rockchip RK3566 found in the RG Arc-S and RG Arc-D for the Allwinner H700.

If this is true, the RG ArcXX would likely deliver similar performance as the previous model, while keeping the same 4-inch screen and 480p resolution. At this point, it’s still unclear whether Anbernic plans to offer both single and dual-boot options this time, or if they have any other improvements in mind. Also, a release date is still not known at this time.

  • Anbernic RG CubeXX: Compact Handheld for Dreamcast, N64, PS1 Emulation

Anbernic RG CubeXX: Compact Handheld for Dreamcast, N64, PS1 Emulation

Anbernic has begun offering the RG CubeXX as a more affordable option compared to the RG Cube, which is currently priced at $196.99 on Amazon and was released in the late spring. True to form, Anbernic has made the new gaming handheld available in three color choices, known as Black, Grey, and White. Additionally, these options can be customized with one of four memory configurations.

    Performance Comparison

In essence, the RG CubeXX is significantly less powerful than its predecessor, the RG Cube. Anbernic has fitted the RG CubeXX with the same Allwinner H700 chipset used in various devices from the RG35XX series. Moreover, it comes with 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, which is a standard feature in this price range.

    Gaming Capabilities

Due to these specifications, the RG CubeXX is expected to handle games from platforms like Dreamcast, N64, and PS1, with some PSP games also playable. However, it remains uncertain whether the device’s 720p screen will impact emulation performance when compared to the 480p display found in RG35XX series devices. For context, the RG CubeXX includes a 3.95-inch IPS display that maintains a 1:1 aspect ratio.

    Pricing and Options

At present, the starting price for Anbernic’s newest gaming handheld is $59.99, which includes a 32 GB MicroSD card in any of the three color options. It’s important to note that this price will increase to $66.99 on October 25. Furthermore, customers can opt for larger MicroSD cards of 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB at prices of $67.99, $74.99, and $89.99, respectively.

  • Anbernic Handheld: Release Date and Pricing Details Revealed

Anbernic Handheld: Release Date and Pricing Details Revealed

Anbernic is getting ready to launch its newest gaming handheld device. The company has been quick to share this news, having only revealed the device late last week. The RG406V, which is currently priced at $226.99 on Amazon, is still a fresh release, being less than a month old.

    Upcoming Release Date

Despite the recent release of the RG406V, the RG CubeXX is set to arrive by the end of this month. However, it’s still unclear if Anbernic will also debut the RG P01 controller in October. At this time, details about the RG P01’s launch are not available. But RetroHandhelds has confirmed that the RG CubeXX will go on sale starting at 10:00 UTC on October 22.

    Pricing Information

Anbernic is planning to set the price for the RG CubeXX at a starting rate of $60, not including shipping. This initial price will be in effect until October 25, after which it will increase to $67. To sum up, here are the key hardware details of the RG CubeXX:

  • Anbernic RG P01: Official 2.4 GHz & Bluetooth Wireless Controller

Anbernic RG P01: Official 2.4 GHz & Bluetooth Wireless Controller

Anbernic has announced all the details for its upcoming retro gaming handheld, the RG CubeXX. Typically, the company launches a new product every month, but this might not hold true for October. They have yet to confirm anything, and they also have not officially unveiled their first wireless controller, which is set to be named the RG P01.

    Design Inspiration and Features

The RG P01 closely resembles the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C (currently priced at $29.99 on Amazon). In this way, the design of the RG P01 takes a lot from 8BitDo’s button configuration, including the four buttons next to Anbernic’s logo. However, unlike the Ultimate 2C, Anbernic’s logo does not function as an extra button.

    Connectivity and Functionality

Additionally, the RG P01 features RGB backlit joysticks and vertical LED connection indicators. Anbernic’s first controller offers both 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.3 capabilities, supporting a variety of devices such as Android, iOS, Steam, Switch, and Windows. It’s also noted that the RG P01 is equipped with two programmable macro buttons located on the back.

    Performance Uncertainties

That being said, these buttons have not been highlighted in any promotional content so far. It remains unclear how well the controller’s d-pad will perform or what its latency will be when using 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth. Furthermore, Anbernic has not released any info regarding joystick dead zones or if they experience cardinal snapping, a problem seen in some of their previous retro gaming handhelds.
